Opportunistic coding with applications to wireless communications

Principal investigator (PI): Suhas Diggavi

Co-PI: Ruediger Urbanke

Sponsor: Swiss national science foundation

Supported students: Sanket Dusad and Etienne Perron

Project timeline: 2004-2006

Project synopsis: This project studied diversity embedded code designs and their applications. We studied this problem both from the point-of-view of information-theoretic bounds on performance as well as explicit algebraic code designs.

This was part of a larger effort on opportunistic communication and diversity embedded codes, details of which can be found here.
